Troubleshooting

“Windows protected your PC” when I open the .exe. Click More info, then Run anyway. Windows shows this for new apps.

The studio doesn’t start, or closes right away. Look for %TEMP%\nox_crash.txt. It holds the reason. Send it to us with your message.

FiveM stutters or crashes while the studio is open. Untick Settings → Performance → Draw the interface with the graphics card and restart the studio. The 3D previews turn off, the rest works.

See Activate your license for activation messages, and Move to another PC for “already in use on another machine”.

“Please reconnect” after a few days offline. The studio works offline for 7 days between online checks. Connect and click Try again.

The ped preview shows clothes floating with no body. The studio couldn’t find GTA V on this PC. Use Ped Preview → Body files… or Settings → Base ped folder to point at the base ped files.

“3D preview is off”. Tick Settings → Performance → Draw the interface with the graphics card and restart.

My clothes don’t show up at all.

  1. Is the pack started? Add ensure <pack> to server.cfg and restart the server. Server limits lists packs your server doesn’t start.
  2. Does another pack use the same collection name? Server limits shows Collection “X” is used by A and B.
  3. Is a slot past 256 pieces? Then the game shows none of them. Overview and Validate both warn about this.

They show in clothing menus but not in the stores. The pieces aren’t in the pack’s shop meta. Add them with Also list them in the in-game clothing stores ticked.

Players crash while joining since I added clothes. You’re probably over the 65,520 shop entries limit across all packs. Check Server limits. The FiveM crash log often blames the wrong resource.

Textures load late or the server warns about oversized assets. Run Optimize on the pack. Files over 16 MB are listed on the Overview under Advanced → Heaviest pieces.

Saved outfits show the wrong clothes. Something renumbered pieces: usually Delete & renumber or a manual edit outside the studio. Use File → Undo an import… if it was recent. Next time, use Hide from the game instead of deleting.

Something went wrong with an import. File → Undo an import… takes it back, files and all. File → Advanced → Restore originals puts back every file the studio rewrote, from its .noxbak copies.

When asking for help with an in-game problem, these help:

  • %LocalAppData%\FiveM\FiveM.app\crashes\: crash dumps
  • %LocalAppData%\FiveM\FiveM.app\logs\: client logs

Unexpected errors are written to %AppData%\Noxsware\errors.log. Help → Open error log shows it in Explorer; Help → Copy error log copies it with the studio version on top, ready to paste into a message to us. The Output panel at the bottom of the window shows what the studio did in this session.
