Move to another PC
Studio licenses
Section titled “Studio licenses”Studio has unlimited machines. Download the studio on the new PC and activate it with the same key. Nothing else to do.
Solo licenses
Section titled “Solo licenses”Solo runs on one machine at a time. To move it, free the old machine’s seat first. Two ways:
From the old PC
Section titled “From the old PC”- Open Noxsware Studio on the old PC.
- Help → License… → Deactivate this machine, and confirm.
The studio frees the seat and closes. If it says Removed here, but the licensing server could not be reached — the seat is still taken, it was offline. Use the portal instead.
From the portal (old PC gone or broken)
Section titled “From the portal (old PC gone or broken)”- Sign in to the client portal.
- On your Solo license, find the old machine under Machines and click Remove machine.
Then activate on the new PC with the same key.
Reinstalling Windows
Section titled “Reinstalling Windows”The studio recognises a PC by its Windows installation. After a reinstall the same PC counts as a new machine, so remove the old entry in the portal first.
What gets sent
Section titled “What gets sent”When the studio activates or checks in, it sends your key, a machine ID (a hashed value derived from your Windows installation, not your hardware serials), your PC’s name and the studio version. Details are in the privacy notice.
