Hide from the game is the safe way to take a piece out. The studio renames its files with a .noxoff ending and tells the game the slot is empty. Nothing else moves, so saved outfits that use other pieces are unaffected. The piece shows hidden from the game and Bring back into the game undoes it.

The studio asks first, and explains what changes for players who were wearing it.

Click Move to slot… or Duplicate to slot…. The dialog’s first line shows the file, how many colours it has and its current number.

The list shows every number in that kind: live ones, free ones (marked <- free), and + new #NNN (appended) at the end. The note under the list says what will happen:

  • Added after the last piece in this slot — nothing is replaced and nothing renumbers. The safest choice.
  • Free slot — nothing is replaced.
  • This slot holds a live piece — it is archived (reversible) and replaced. Anyone wearing that number will wear your piece instead.
  • The old slot is tombstoned, not removed, so nothing after it shifts. When moving, the old number is left empty rather than closed up.

Delete & renumber… is the only action that shifts other pieces. The confirmation spells it out, for example The 12 jbib piece(s) after it each move down one number. Saved outfits that use those pieces will show the wrong item afterwards.

The deleted files aren’t gone: they’re kept in the pack’s .noxsware folder, and File → Undo an import… puts everything back.

Remove from project drops the piece from the studio’s wardrobe only. Its files stay on disk and in the pack. Use it for strays you don’t want to see or build.

File → Advanced → Restore originals (undo every in-place rewrite) puts back every file the studio rewrote in the project’s folders (.ymt, shop metas, optimized textures, metas it applied versions to) from the .noxbak copies it made before its first change. It lists what it will restore and asks first. Hidden (.noxoff) and renamed files are not touched; bring those back with Bring back into the game or Undo an import….
